If you’re planning to adopt a Springerdoodle or you’ve already brought your fluffy little friend home, you’re likely here to find out more about the Springerdoodle size and growth patterns. In this article, we’re going to learn all about the Springerdoodle size and how you can predict your Springerdoodle’s full-grown size. Let’s get started!

Springerdoodle a.k.a. Sproodle a.k.a. Springerpoo is an English Springer Spaniel-Poodle mix. The Springerdoodle is an extremely intelligent cross-breed (thanks to their great genes!) with the most precious temperament. They’re super friendly, affectionate, and love a good playtime. Whether you’re in a single person household or a family with children, the Sproodle is a great fit for almost anyone.

Springerdoodle Size Predictions: How Big Do Springerdoodles Get?

As with any hybrid breed, predicting a Springerdoodle’s size isn’t as straightforward compared to their parent pups. By combining two different purebred dogs, the outcome can greatly vary. For this reason, we must first understand their heritage.

First we have the English Springer Spaniel that is a medium-sized dog. Springer Spaniels weigh around 40 to 50 pounds and have an average height of 19 to 20 inches.

Then we have the Poodle that actually comes in three different sizes – Toy, Miniature, and Standard. Most commonly, we see Standard Poodles crossed with Springer Spaniels, but Miniature Poodles can also be used in the mix. Standard Poodles weigh between 38 and 70 pounds and have an average height of 24 to 27 inches. Minis, on the other hand, weigh between 10 and 20 pounds and stand just about 10 to 15 inches tall at the shoulder.

So, how big do Springerdoodles get? Let’s take a look at the average Springerdoodle size predictions for Standard and Mini Springerdoodles:

*A dog’s height is measured from the withers, which is the highest part of their shoulder blades.

Are There Different Sizes Of Springerdoodle?

As we learned from the Springerdoodle size chart above, these Doods come in two sizes – the Standard and Mini Springerdoodle size. The average size of a Standard Springerdoodle is usually between 35 and 60 pounds in height and they have an average height of 19 to 25 inches. The average Mini Springerdoodle size ranges from 15 to 30 pounds with an average height of 12 to 18 inches at the shoulder.

Additionally, male Springerdoodles may be slightly heavier and taller than females, but that’s not always the case. The size difference between males and females is usually more noticeable in larger Sproodles like the Standard Springerdoodle.

Having said all that, it’s important to keep in mind that a Springerdoodle’s full-grown size is also influenced by their genetic makeup, generation, diet, and even how much they exercise. For this reason, you should always pay close attention to your puppy’s food intake. If you feed your pup too little, they might become malnourished and not develop at an optimal rate. Similarly, overfeeding your dog can lead to obesity, which in turn can cause a whole range of other health problems.

F1 Vs F1b Vs F2b Springerdoodle

As if things weren’t complicated enough, we must also take into account a Doodle’s generation. A Springerdoodle’s generation can very much affect their size. But how so? To put it simply, generations tell us how much of the puppy’s genetic makeup consists of either of the parental breeds.

Here are all the possible Springerdoodle generations and what each of them stands for:

Doodle Generations explained 2022

So, based on the information above, we can actually achieve more control over a Springerdoodle’s size and other traits with different generations. For example, if a breeder’s goal is to produce Mini Springerdoodles, they can either breed first-generation pups with a Miniature Poodle. Or for more accuracy, they can breed an F1b Mini Springerdoodle, where one of the parents is a Mini Springerdoodle and the other is a Miniature Poodle.

Springerdoodle Size Charts & Growth Patterns

Like most dogs, Springerdoodles grow fastest in the first 50% of their adult weight. After that, their growth will start to gradually slow down until it plateaus at their full-grown size around 11 to 16 months of age. Interestingly, dogs reach their adult height a few months before reaching their full weight. So, you can typically expect your Springerdoodle to finish growing in height somewhere between 9 and 12 months of age.

Speaking of, we’ve been collecting weight data from our Doodle Weight Prediction Calculator. The below Springerdoodle size chart / graph shows the average weights by age (in weeks), per size of dog.

As of October 24, 2022, we’ve received over 1,000 accurate Springerdoodle weight submissions through our calculator.

Standard Springerdoodle

Standard Springerdoodles tend to reach half their adult weight between 4.5 and 6 months old. We can typically expect a Standard Springerdoodle to reach its full-grown size around 12.5 and 16 months old.

Here’s a simple formula you can use to predict your Standard Springerdoodle’s full-grown weight:

Mini Springerdoodle

Mini Springerdoodles usually reach their adult size sooner than larger pups. A Mini Springerdoodle likely reaches half its adult weight around 3.5 and 5 months old. Around 11 and 13 months of age, we can expect a Mini Springerdoodle to finish growing.

How Big Is A Fully-Grown Sproodle?

The average Springerdoodle size ranges anywhere between 15 and 60 pounds and they have a typical height of around 12 to 25 inches. However, a Springerdoodle’s full-grown size is influenced by the size of the Poodle used in the mix. For instance, if we cross a Springer Spaniel to a Miniature Poodle, we get a Mini Springerdoodle. If a Standard Poodle is used in the mix, we get a significantly larger pup.

How Big Is A Mini Springerdoodle?

A Mini Springerdoodle weighs between 15 and 30 pounds and has a height of 12 to 18 inches measured at the shoulder. That’s quite a difference compared to Standard Springerdoodles who usually weigh between 35 to 60 pounds and stand around 19 to 25 inches tall.
