In this article, we’re going to learn all about the Ttoodle size and growth patterns. We’ll also be sharing a few simple tips and tricks on how you can predict your Ttoodle’s full-grown size. In fact, we’ve created an interactive Ttoodle size chart and growth calculator, which is a handy tool for all Ttoodle puppy parents. Let’s get into it!

The Ttoodle, sometimes also referred to as the Tiboodle, is a relatively new and lesser-known Doodle compared to some other Poodle mixes. In this guide, we learn about the Tibetan Terrier-Poodle mix, not to be confused with the Tibetan Spaniel-Poodle mix that’s also called the Tiboodle.

The Ttoodle is a gentle and affectionate companion who’s got the smarts, the personality, and the looks. Of course, from the Poodle parent, they’ve inherited a low-shedding coat, which makes the Ttoodle a great alternative for people who otherwise couldn’t adopt a purebred Tibetan Terrier.

Ttoodle Size Predictions: How Big Does A Ttoodle Get?

Today, the Ttoodle is quite rare and a newer breed, which means that there aren’t exact standards set in place. This in turn makes our guesswork a bit harder. So, first things first, we must understand a bit about their heritage and the size of their parents.

The Tibetan Terrier is a sturdy medium-sized dog with an average weight of 18 to 30 pounds. They’re usually 14 to 17 inches tall when measured from the shoulder. As with many other breeds, males tend to be slightly larger than females.

Poodles, on the other hand, come in three sizes – Toy, Miniature, and Standard. Currently, most Ttoodles are created by mixing them with Standard Poodles that have an average weight of 38 to 70 pounds and a typical height of 24 to 27 inches. Most breeders opt for smaller-sized Standard Poodles that are closer to the Tibetan Terrier size.

In addition to that, the Ttoodle can also be created with Miniature Poodles that weigh between 10 to 20 pounds. Miniature Poodles are also much shorter and they stand 10 to 15 inches tall. However, the Mini Ttoodle is quite a rarity at this time, but we can expect to see more mini versions out there in the future.

So, how big is a full-grown Ttoodle? Here are the average Ttoodle size predictions for Standard and Mini Ttoodle:

Mini TtoodleStandard Ttoodle
Weight14-25 pounds30-45 pounds
Height10-15 inches15-20 inches
Age at Full-Grown11-13 months11-13 months
*A dog’s height is measured from the withers, which is the highest part of their shoulder blades.

Are There Different Sizes Of Ttoodle?

As we learned from the Ttoodle size chart, these pups can come in the Mini and Standard size range. The average weight of a Standard Ttoodle is usually 30 to 45 pounds and their typical height sits between 15 and 20 inches. Additionally, the smaller Mini Ttoodle can weigh between 14 and 25 pounds and have a height of 10 to 15 inches measured from the shoulder.

On the other hand, as this Doodle is such a new and quite rare hybrid breed, it’s fairly difficult to predict how these pups may turn out. It’s also not uncommon for Ttoodle pups to fall slightly outside of these estimates. All in all, the Ttoodle size is determined by the size of its parents, genetics, and generation.

In addition to that, you might want to keep in mind that your puppy’s diet and exercise levels can also affect their full-grown size. For instance, over or underfeeding your puppy can drastically affect their future adult size.

F1 Vs F1b Vs F2b Ttoodle

As we briefly mentioned, a Ttoodle’s generation can also influence their size. A Doodle’s generation tells us how the puppy was created and hints how much of their genetic makeup consists of either of the parental breeds. Here’s what they mean exactly:

Doodle Generations explained 2022

Based on the information above, we see that there’s a possibility to achieve much more control over a Ttoodle’s size with each consecutive generation. For instance, if the goal is to breed a smaller Mini Ttoodle, we can cross a first-generation Mini Ttoodle back to a Mini Poodle. But, as we’re dealing with a relatively new hybrid breed, these pups mostly come in the first-generation mix as of now.

Ttoodle Size Charts & Growth Patterns

Based on the observed dog growth patterns, we know that Ttoodles usually experience the fastest growth rates in the first 50% of their adult weight. This usually happens before their 6 month mark. After that, their growth will start to gradually slow down until it plateaus at their full adult weight.

What’s interesting to note is that dogs usually reach their full height a few months before they reach their full adult weight. So, don’t be surprised if your puppy looks tall and lanky. They’ll catch up on their weight soon after.

Tip for Ttoodle parents: If you’d like to predict and track your Ttoodle’s size, be sure to try our interactive Ttoodle size chart and growth calculator. Just select your Doodle’s type and enter their estimated size, current weight in pounds, current age in weeks, and our calculator will reveal you the results!

Standard Ttoodle

Although Standard Ttoodles are bred with Standard Poodles, these pups usually fall within the medium-sized dog category. Standard Ttoodles tend to reach half their adult weight between 3.5 and 5 months old. By 11 to 13 months of age, you can expect your Ttoodle to finish growing and plateau at their full adult weight.

For both Mini and Standard Ttoodles, you can use this simple formula to predict their full-grown weight:

Mini Ttoodle

Mini Ttoodles often follow very similar growth patterns as their standard-sized counterparts. Mini Ttoodles usually reach half their adult weight between 3.5 and 5 months old and tend to finish growing by 11 to 13 months old.

However, as a general rule of thumb, smaller dogs typically grow faster and reach their full adult size sooner than larger pups.
